About Arizen Acres

Arizen Acres is a dressage-based Thoroughbred training and sales program based in Paris, Kentucky, focused on developing confident, rideable sport horses through correct fundamentals and thoughtful retraining.

Founded by Nicole Dlugosz, Arizen Acres was built on the belief that Thoroughbreds deserve more than labels, low expectations, or being overlooked. They are capable, athletic, intelligent horses that, when developed correctly, can excel as serious sport horse partners.

​

Our program emphasizes clarity, confidence, and correct development.  Each horse is treated as an individual rather than forced into a predetermined mold. While dressage provides the foundation, the goal is always to prepare each horse for the career and rider that suit them best. Some may continue in dressage, while others may thrive in eventing, hunter/jumpers, trail riding, or versatile all-around sport horse homes.

Rooted in classical dressage principles, Arizen Acres also recognizes that Thoroughbreds often require a more nuanced retraining process shaped by their previous racing careers. Understanding how race training can influence contact, balance, posture, and responsiveness allows for a more effective transition into their sport horse career.

Meet Nicole

Nicole Dlugosz has earned her USDF Bronze Medal on self-trained Thoroughbreds and is a two-time Top Ten finisher at the Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover in Dressage.

Nicole is passionate about helping Thoroughbreds transition into confident, capable second-career athletes with a thoughtful training approach. Her work blends classical dressage principles with practical horsemanship, creating horses prepared for long-term success.
